The Politics of Fashion.

Fashion is art. Fashion is music. Fashion is everywhere. Just like madame moiselle Chanel said herself, “Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening…” you get the idea. Though nothing great comes without a price. And I am here to expose that price. Not retail or wholesale prices, but prices involving the law. And that, brothers and sisters, is as real as it gets.  I believe fashion’s #1 threat are counterfeiters. Fakes. And stores like Forever 21 (and what the fasion industry is calling “for credit” internships, but more on that later).

Our main problem here is people making and selling goods for the sole purose of having consumers appearing to be wealthy and fashion savvy, when they are really contributing to drug and slave trafficing.  This trend will stop once we, as consumers stop trying to look trendy while paying a trendy price. It all boils down to the basic principles of playing fair, and trademark infringers, (lets call ’em T.I’s) simply ain’t playin’ fair. (Just like rapper T.I didn’t play fair and now he’s in prison). These counterfeiters are literally getting away with murder, and it look like there is no end in sight. Here are some fakes I spotted just today in one econd hand store in Portland.
